Outdoor Bowls Section

This section has an equal mixture of both men and women players and is always seeking new members, especially younger members to support our aging membership.

Recent successes include our involvement in the televised NZBowls 3ive triples and our 1-5 yr Junior Bowls, representing Counties Manukau, winning the Mercedes Cup competition over other teams in the Northern Region.

Our all weather artificial carpet is used extensively, especially during the winter months when other clubs visit because their grass greens are closed. Recently added shelters provide protection from both rain and sun. High-mast lights permit twilight bowls for intersection fun tournaments.

This section has a very busy calendar, which includes Roll-up days open to all Cossie Club members on Tuesday and Saturday mornings.

If playing outdoor bowls interests you, please come along or contact one o the bowlers.

The Ladies of the section also provide a lovely morning tea for the section members.

The monthly bus trip is extremely popular with this being arranged for the third Thursday of the month.

The Over Sixties’ Section performs many valuable tasks throughout the year. The Hot Cross Bun Run is one such worthy cause where Hot Cross Buns are distributed to the many people in rest homes within the local area. If you enjoy getting out and about give the Convenor/committee a ring and I am sure they will introduce you to many a fine company.

Prize giving is also a hoot with different winners and losers. Think you know the front from the back see the Fat Cat for more info…
